TSUNAMI RELIEF WORK
After various discussion we had with our members and with Re-habilitation officials of the State Govt we have decided on the following:
We will distribute 1000 rehabilitation kits comprising of utensils for cooking, stove, Jerry can for kerosene, at Cuddalore & Nagapatnam Districts. We have contacted the Collector at Cuddalore who has instructed Mr Jaganathan, Project Officer – Relief to co-ordinate with us on the distribution at Cuddalore. In Nagapatnam Subbu’s friend has a Kalyana mandapam where the affected people are staying, who will also help us in the distribution.
We have also purchased 1500 bags of rice 10 kg each to be distributed in the above areas including Madurandagam village, Tamilnadu.
The tentative schedule is Friday 7th morning leaving at 6 am to reach Madurandagam at 8.0am to distribute the rice and leave for Cuddalore so that we reach latest by 12 pm. We will complete the distribution at Cuddalore and stay over night. 8th morning leave for Nagapatnam and return the same night to Chennai.
As there is lot of work involved and large quantities to be distributed I request all members and Anns to participate in the relief work. Vidya Dhandapani has organised a Qualis vehicle and in case if we can get one more Qualis, we can go in two vehicles. Please confirm by return your participation.
