Message from Rtn. Chip Ross - Aid from RC of Stathcona Sunrise

The Rotary Club of Chennai Kilpauk is a sister Club of the RC of Strathcona Sunrise. Chip Ross - President of the RC of Strathcona Sunrise has strngly supported the Helping Hands project of the RC of Chennai Kilpauk. In fact Chennai Kilpauk's Helping Hands project would not have taken off if not for Chip's hard work and commitment to fund the project. Here is a message from him.

Hello Hari,

One of our club members, Peggy Carswell, and her husband (Kel Kelly) will be arriving in Chennai on February 19th. Peggy is a new member, and is working towards developing a sustainable agriculture project in Assam.

I am sending you this note to introduce Peggy to you. She will be writing directly to you shortly to see if there is any help that she and/or Kel might offer to your relief efforts.

On Wednesday we will be discussing our proposal to send money for disaster relief (see below). I do not anticipate any objections to it, and I know that many members will contribute personally. I will let you know immediately of the results of our discussion, and will ask our Treasurer to make a transfer of funds immediately. I think that we will be able to send
more help later, but this will help you get started.

>Specifically, it is proposed that Strathcona Sunrise match, from its
>General Fund, the donations of members or non-members to a maximum club
>contribution of C$5,000, with a minimum total of C$1,000. The money
>will be sent directly to the Chennai-Kilpauk Charitable Trust for use
>in disaster relief.

BTW, I have been following your blog. It's a good idea.

Yours in Rotary Service
