Tsunami and what we are doing

The Eastern Coast of India was hit by a Tsunami generated by an Earthquake which took place near Indonesia. However more damage and deaths were caused in the indian Sub continent than closer to the epicenter of the earthquake.

The Killer waves have left many thousands dead and many more homeless. The Rotary Club of Chennai Kilpauk immediately swung into action and has provided whatever relief it can to the needy by way of food, clothing and other materials.

During the Monday meeting the members raised over Rs 35000/- for relief work. Hari Ratan, Mohan Roy and others are doing what they can to raise funds from other Rotary Clubs and friends overseas to help the displaced and the homeless.

The Rotary Club of Chennai Kilpauk is a registered charitable trust with the Ministry of Home Affairs of the Government of India and is therefore authorised to receive donations in foreign exchange. Here are instructions for making contributions.
