The meeting was a speaker event + a farewell party thrown by President Nirmal.
Prof. Bhaskar Ramamurthy, Director IIT M spoke on the thing India needed in the next 10 years, covering areas such as Power, education and water, with IIT M involved in most of these spheres . Solar power will constitute 50% of the power needs India, mobility making broadband available across most of the country at great speed and very low cost, and computing/tablet technology making internet supported education reaching very deep. The Aakash 4 is almost finalised and this time the government is tying up with all large manufacturers to provide volume and a great product at a very low cost.
